The main difference between the 1700B and the 1700 is the metal thickness and support pole design. 

The 1700B uses thinner metal at just 1.2mm, and its two main side support poles are made of two connected pieces rather than a single solid piece. As a result, the 1700B takes slightly more time to install and has a lower maximum load capacity.
